Moms and Kids in Galway - Days 1 & 2

My friend Niamh and I took all of our six kids to the west of Ireland, county Galway, for a weekend of exploring.  First, the kids and I stopped at the town of Athenry.  The castle was closed (many are not open for tours in the off-season), but we still had some fun!

Saturday the weather was miserable, but it stopped raining long enough when we came to the Quiet Man Bridge, used in the 1950's movie starring John Wayne.

Friends on the bridge... these two have known each other since they were babies living in China!

All the kids (minus Benicio), Aiobhin a bit unwillingly, but at least we got them all together!

Next stop, Kylemore Abbey.  Miserable weather walking in the crazy wind and rain (our umbrellas barely survived!), but the kids were troopers.

Too bad the weather was so awful... would be beautiful to see on a clear day.
