County Donegal - Day 2

Day 2 of our 4-day weekend was spent in county Donegal.  We stayed two nights at a great B&B in Buncrana called Westbrook House, which just happened to be across the road from one of the first stops on my list: Swan Park.  I have never seen such a cute park to spark kids' imaginations.  After visiting Swan Park, I will say I am definitely a believer in fairies!  The park had a "Free Wee Library" where you could take and leave a book, as well as many fairy houses, some very cleverly hidden!  Lina has never had so much fun... she counted about 25 fairy houses throughout the park!

The Free Wee Library... It seemed appropriate to donate "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss.  We sure have been to a lot of amazing and beautiful places, and we are so grateful!  Lina and Isandro both found a book that sparked their interest to take home with them.

Lina has found her first fairy house!

The fairies have their very own telephone booth?!

Can you spot a fairy house?!

So much detail put into all of the wee houses. ;)

After having a ball at Swan Park, we continued our drive on the very scenic and beautiful "Inishowen 100" which is about a 100-mile stretch of road around the most northern part of Ireland, with the main destination being Malin Head, which is as far north on Ireland that you could possibly go.  And WOW, was it amazing to see!

County Donegal is at the top of Ireland.

This map shows the Inishowen 100 drive in red.

An old military base on the edge of a cliff.

The whole drive was on a tiny road!

Time to pull over, stretch our legs, and throw some rocks!  YES!

Cute cottage alert!  Cute cottage alert!!!

I'm obsessed with everything about it, from the bright white with the red door, the thatched roof, and the old fashioned post box.  I could definitely enjoy a "cuppa" in this cottage!  Sigh.....

At the tip-top of Ireland, Malin Head.  A little warning sign, not to freak you out or anything...

Off to Hell's Hole, wish me luck. :P

At the end of the 665 meter walk and I see this sign... Uh oh, I see somebody breaking the rules!

Beautiful walk!

What an amazing day!
