Tidy Town

Clear skies and seventy degrees means it'd be a shame to sit inside, so the kids and I went on a little walk around town.  Straffan is a very small town, with a population of around 450 people.  It is also the winner of several "Tidy Town" competitions.  Many towns throughout Ireland compete for this every year.  We often see workers out raking leaves, watering flowers, and keeping grass trimmed.  I'm so happy we're able to live in this "Tidy Town" and still be close to bigger towns, cities, and shopping.

Not sure what these are but the color was so bright!

Entrance to our neighborhood.

Straffan Road, and Lina on her scooter.

Searching for fairies!  They are good hiders!

Straffan's post office.

The gate says, "Any person who omits to shut and fasten this gate is liable to a penalty not exceeding forty shillings."  Haha love it!  Old school.  ;)

What a great spot to sit and wait for the bus.

Isandro riding his monster truck up the tree.

This is also the corner of the street that Lina's school is on.

Just one of the many bundles of colorful flowers hanging around Straffan.  They work hard to keep their town tidy!

I love this old school post box.

Such a good boy, just along for the ride!

We drive over this gate daily.  Isandro always calls out, "Green bridge, mommy! Green bridge!"

This bridge goes along Straffan road.  We're looking at it from the green bridge.
