Majorca Island Day 5

Another hair-raising road, but it was amazing to drive to the northern-most point of Majorca, to the Cap de Formentor peninsula.  There was a viewpoint along the way where you could park your car and walk to a very breathtaking point for a great view.  I thought it was better than actually going all the way to the end of the peninsula where the Formentor lighthouse is (although that really was amazing too!).

These first pictures are when we were coming up on a tunnel, and I noticed there were steps on the side of the mountain, which people were climbing!!  The steps went as far as we could see, and there were several people climbing them and taking pictures.  I don't know if I'm THAT adventurous, eeeek!

You can easily spot the person in the red shirt!  Also someone in a white shirt that was taking photographs.  That sure would be sad to drop and lose such a fancy camera!

It's hard to show the depth and how high up the mountain we really were.

I'm sure he got some great pictures.....

If you look all the way to the right you can see part of the tunnel, and the guy in the red shirt lol.

You can kind of see how steep this mountain was that the steps were on... literally a 90-degree angle.

You can see two people at the very bottom right corner of this picture.  It's hard to tell where the steps were, but they went really far out there.  Right in the center are part of the steps but it's hard to tell because the color blends in with the mountain.

You can see the steps at the bottom right, and there's the red-shirt guy almost in the middle, then the steps continue.

Total insanity!

Almost to the Cap de Formentor, you can see the lighthouse.

Another winding road!

The clear blue water was so pretty!

Here we are walking to one of the most amazing viewpoints of the whole trip, I think.  The view from here was almost more amazing than going all the way to the end of the peninsula.  (We decided to skip the viewpoint on the way to the lighthouse because it was too packed with cars/visitors, so we caught it on the way back.)

View of the roads below.

So this guy in the blue shirt and shorts was probably taking an aerial video with his phone, because he seemed to be there FOREVER, turning around in circles.  Picture would've been much cuter without him in the way, but he wasn't going anywhere and it was too hot to be standing there much longer without moving along lol.

Almost at the end of the viewpoint.

WOW!

Looking down was a little tummy-churning I must say!

We haven't yet been to the Love Lock Bridge in France, but it looks like someone started their own version of it here in Majorca, except I think I'd call it the Love Lock Cliff.  If I would've known about it, I would've brought a lock of our own.  ;)

Walking back from the viewpoint.  You can see that we are literally on the edge of a cliff.  What an amazing day!
