Italian Adventure - Day 5

After seeing the ancient city of Pompeii, the next morning we started driving south towards the Almafi coast area.  Our first stop that day was to the beautiful town of Ravello, where we visited two beautiful gardens, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.  Then, we had an interesting experience meeting the man who was showing us to our stay for the night (along with his interesting ride), followed by exploring Almafi town and a great dinner outside amidst the relaxing buzz of the town.

Driving on our way to Ravello/Almafi.

Our first stop... beautiful Villa Rufolo gardens.

Incredible views.

...and the perfect place to run free of course!

Saying hi to the fishies in the pond.

Ahhhhh so beautiful!

They had a blast chasing each other around.

A few seconds of brotherly love.

Checking out the view with dada.

Isandro trying to give Benicio a hug, but Benicio is saying no and pushing Isandro away.

A little fun before lunch.

After visiting the Villa Rufolo, we walked a few minutes, and lots of steps, to Villa Cimbrone.  Lots of cute shops and doorways along the way.

View from the top terrace!

Look, Rapunzel's tower! ;)

After exploring the two gardens, we had to meet Salvatore to show us to our stay for the night in Almafi.  There was a bit of a language barrier, and we had a heck of a time trying to figure out where to go, so finally we told him we were waiting at a particular hotel, so eventually we met him there.  He was driving this thing!  Interesting, we thought, and continued to follow him for a while.  Eventually, he motioned for us to park alongside a road, where we then had to leave our car and go the rest of the way in his vehicle!  The road to his house was too narrow for a regular car to fit, so the boys and I rode up front with Salvatore and Manuel and Lina sat in the back with their legs hanging off the edge, like a pickup truck.  Isandro thought it was great, while Benicio wanted nothing to do with it.  A memory for the books for sure!

For the evening, we ventured back out to the town of Almafi after we'd dropped off our bags at the house.  We saw a lot of this, with cars barely missing each other on the narrow roads.

Entering the main Almafi town area.

...and after!

Everything lemon!

Goodnight, Almafi!  What a great evening out.
