Italian Adventure - Day 3

For our final full day in Rome, we set out to explore the Colosseum (a 5-minute walk from where we were staying), and then we spent a relaxing afternoon riding around in our rented golf car at Villa Borghese Gardens.  Then to end the day, we enjoyed the most amazing cannolis from Cannoleria Siciliana.

On our walk to the Colosseum, Isandro thought this little car was the coolest.  We decided to make it our ride for the day. ;)

I have a pretty cool view of the Colosseum so far. :)

The kids had fun climbing on the massive fallen columns.

Benicio got upset when he couldn't push the heavy columns.  He pushed and pushed but they would not budge!

Someone is excited to be at the Colosseum. ;)

A little break outside after we were done exploring the Colosseum.

In the distance is the Roman Forum, but that's as close as we got to it.  It was lunch time and the kids were already exhausted.

Interesting view as we were walking away from the Colosseum.

After lunch, we went to the Villa Borghese Gardens.  The kids had fun on the playground and a few carnival-type rides, and we had a blast driving around on the golf car we rented for a couple hours.  It was a nice break from the sometimes hectic and tiring sight-seeing of Rome.

Lina wasn't expecting this little car to take off with so much power!

Our fun ride for the afternoon!

More great views of Rome!

The long awaited dessert of the day: cannolis!  They. Were. AMAZING.  Filled with the most delicious, creamy filling.  Reminded me a little of cheesecake, because it was so rich and I think best enjoyed taking small bites.  The kids loved them too!

Holy cannoli!  Love at first bite. ;)

Little man enjoying his mini cannoli.

Isandro slept through our entire time at the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, so we boxed up some of the food and he was munching on that while we had our cannolis in the nearby playground.
