Shipwrecked at Inisheer Island!

We woke up early to drive nearly 3 hours to the west coast of Ireland to board a ferry out of the county of Galway, to one of the Aran Islands called Inisheer Island.  Unfortunately the waters were rough on the way out, so the ride was a bit bumpy.  After a long ferry ride (the ferry had to drop people off at the other two islands first), we were excited to explore Inisheer and see the cool shipwreck!  Note to self: when calling to get information about a place to visit, always ask if it's buggy/stroller friendly.  We were kicking ourselves for NOT bringing the buggy because it definitely would've come in handy!  Mr. Isandro isn't up for walking really long distances, and I don't blame him.  Poor guy, his little legs can only do so much.  We sure did have fun though!

Of the three islands, we visited the smallest one, Inisheer.

On the ferry.

On Inisheer Island.  Cute little cottage.

Mostly clear skies, but windy.  Starting to get coooold!

Boy drops truck...

Sister picks up truck and gives to brother...

Brother resumes play with his truck.

"Mom, I found a fossil!"

Pub thatta' way!

Cool spot for "bump bumps" with his Monster Truck.

Lunch pit stop.

Never seen stone walls like this in Ireland.  They were everywhere, so perfectly stacked.

Isandro sees an abandoned tractor!

Finally!  We made it to the shipwreck!

Lina couldn't wait to check this one out.

If Isandro had gone inside with Lina, he would've said, "Dark and pookey!" (spooky)

Nice view from inside the ship.

One day, maybe in my next life, I will move to Ireland and live in a tiny, cozy thatched roof cottage, sipping my hot coffee all day!
