A Greek Vacation - Athens

We were so lucky to be able to visit Greece for about a week.  The sites were amazing, and the weather was great too!  We spent a couple days in Athens before taking a ferry to the island of Santorini.  Here are some photos from our Athens adventures!

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to Greece we go!

Our first breakfast in Athens, Greece, before we set off for a day of exploring.

Already running the streets!

Lina just like her mama... loooooves the souvenir shopping!

Any little bit of water, Benicio was all about it.  Good thing he was wearing his sandals because there wasn't a puddle that he didn't stomp in!

Loved walking around Plaka, the oldest neighborhood in Athens.  Lots of charm.

Gotta keep cool!

First stop was to see the ancient ruins of the Acropolis.  Isandro gives it a thumbs up!

What a view!

Benicio mostly just found places to sit and play in the dust and dirt.  That's how toddlers roll.

Just exploring some ancient stuff and rubbing dirt all over my legs, what'd you do today?!  ;)

After a nap break back at the apartment, the kids found a good tree to climb before checking out Zeus' temple.

Temple of the Olympian Zeus.

Again, favorite activity consisted of playing with pebbles.

Lina had a lot of fun running and jumping off of these rocks.

Day 2 of exploring Athens!

I ask myself this several times a day.

Sometimes you just need a break from it all..

Aaaaand another break.  Admiring some cool graffiti in the distance.

I enjoyed seeing these flower pots hanging on a fence outside a cafe.

Day 2 breakfast spot.

Keeping themselves entertained while waiting for the food.

Relaxing before going out to do it all again.

Might've been my favorite sight in Athens... the Panathenaic Stadium!

The kids LOVE climbing, so this might have been their favorite too!

Glad the boys grabbed their toy trucks.  Benicio had so much fun driving his truck all over the steps.

Future Olympian perhaps?

The stadium was built entirely out of marble.  Mind blown!

Ok, let's see what you got, dada!  Time for a race!

This girl has a bit of a competitive spirit in her.

I see the winner!

Now it's the boys' turn to race Dada.

Wow Isandro, you're fast!!!  Bencio is lagging behind just a bit.

The first modern Olympics were held here in 1896.  And your 2016 gold, silver, and bronze medal winners are... Adelina, Isandro, and Benicio!

Family selfie stick shot.  I swear, Benicio is in the picture too.

Everybody looking in the right direction, yay!  Great way to end our time in Athens.  Next stop... Santorini Island!!
