Northern Ireland, Co. Antrim Day 3

There were a couple of places that I wanted to see, but we ran out of time on day 2 and had to head to where we were staying for the 2nd night.  So on day 3, we backtracked a little and went back south to see the Glenarm Castle's Walled Garden and the Gleno Waterfalls.  Sooo worth the hour that we had to backtrack!  First stop was the Walled Garden.

Next, we went to the Gleno Waterfalls.  A place where you expect little fairies and leprechauns to be hiding!

A muddy bum is a sign of a good day exploring!

When looking for things to do in Antrim, another sight I did not want to miss was The Dark Hedges, a beautiful tree lined road that has been used to film scenes from the hit show Game of Thrones.  Such a peaceful road lined with 300-year old trees.  Eerie and beautiful at the same time!  First are a couple pictures from our drive along the coast before heading to the Dark Hedges.

We still had some time left in the day, so we decided to head up to Ballycastle and check out the area a little bit.  My original plan was to take the ferry from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island, home to less than 100 people, but after reading reviews and speaking to a few people, we decided to skip it.  We wouldn't have had time to fit everything in if we went there, so I'm glad we made time for other spots instead.  In Ballycastle, we stopped at an awesome seaside playground for kids and ate dinner.
