Euro Trip - Day 1 - Germany

The first day of our "Euro Trip" was exploring the gorgeous city of Munich, Germany.  We were blown away with how tidy and well-kept it was, absolutely everywhere.  Spic-n-span, no trace of litter anywhere.  Lots of fun exploring the city...

Sitting on the steps of the place where we stayed our first night.

Not 5 minutes in and we're already finding all sorts of unique Munich charm!

Why?  Because German fire hydrants are cool looking!

Thanks to our friends Aleyda and Ryan for recommending this amazing cafe.  The pastries were amazing!

Manuel saw a really cool outfit he wants for his birthday. :)

Beautiful displays of fruits and vegetables... but you can see the the two less-than-pleasant ladies in the background?  They yelled at us if the kids so much as touched any of the produce.  Needless to say we did not buy from them.

Some grapes to snack on!

Off to explore more of Munich!

Munich's main square: the Marienplatz

This is the view from the top of St. Peter's church.  Not much room to move around, very claustrophobic, but amazing views!

Sissy sharing a snack with her littlest bro.

As you can tell, it was a tad cold for ice cream, but they couldn't resist!

Cute knick-knacks

For the second part of our day in Munich, we went to one of the most beautiful botanical gardens I think I've ever seen.  Botanischer Garten Munchen-Nymphenburg.

Discovering things in a little bamboo forest, and shelter from the rain that came.

These butterflies were HUGE, about as big as my hand!

Never seen such a big caterpillar!
