A Weekend Out West: county Clare

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Bunratty, Co. Clare.

An example of how the cottages looked inside.

Only in Ireland... real fires inside the cottages.  Dada and his babes warming up their hands!

Old school baby bassinet/cradle.

It was a chilly, but beautifully sunny day!

I think this blue cottage was my favorite!

Going to check out the Bunratty Castle!

Walking down to the dungeon.

What it may have been like for a prisoner in the dungeon?  Scary!

Another old school baby bed.

Lina: "Look!  A spindle!"

View from the top of the castle.

These ladies were busy making mince pies inside one of the cottages.

View of the pie making and Manuel enjoying the warmth of the fire.

Exploring the old town!

Enjoying some kiddie snuggles.

Lina taking some time to bust a move!

A Weekend Out West: Co. Limerick

After about a week of straight rain, I was looking for anywhere in Ireland that showed a possibility of a sunny forecast!  About a 2-hour drive away, we explored a bit of county Limerick and county Clare.  In Limerick, we just adored the town of Adare, with it's picturesque village of thatched roof houses and shops, a lovely walk along the river, and an awesome park.  There was a moment of rain in the day, but that's what umbrellas are for, right?  Plus, the bright side to the rain: we popped into a little cafe and had lunch, then when we left, we explored the park followed by a beautiful rainbow!
